The Sins

The Sins formed in 2001 as a post-punk entity (inspired by early Brit-pop bands such as the Sisters of Mercy and The Mission, U.K. as well as American rock legends like The Doors). Since their inception, The Sins consistently captivated audiences with a dynamic stage presence, vigorous showmanship, and strikingly powerful music. With band members from various musical backgrounds and disciplines (including a jazz-influenced live drummer and a classically trained violinist), The Sins boldly paved their own musical path, combining the familiar sounds of the British punk past with their own modern rock influences and ideas. The result is a fascinating blend of genres and sounds from the middle-east-influenced tones of "Ecstasy in Oblivion" to the old school punk feel of "So Many Ways" to the darker, more melodic vibe of their earliest recorded track, "Little Girl Lost." Their 2002 debut CD, The Beginning, quickly become a subculture favorite, spun by underground DJs from coast to coast, as well as in Europe.

What separated The Sins from so many of their counterparts was their cutting-edge diversity, enabling them to appeal to a broader and more varied audience base than goth bands that tend to trap themselves within the genre. Since the release of the band's debut, The Beginning, their music has been met with devilish enthusiasm and tracks from the CD topped the charts at websites such as MP3.com, SoundClick.com, MySpace, and DarkCellDigitalMusic.net.

The Sins disbanded in 2006, despite the acclaim of their 2005 follow-up CD, The Last One Kills. In 2009, The Sins regrouped to record "Abigail," their first single in 4 years, which will appear on the upcoming SINister Records compilation, Memento Mori: A Collection. (It is rumored that the band may reunite to release their 3rd full length CD... stay tuned!)
